Dubai: The UAE will retain its position as the country with the “fastest mobile network” in the first quarter of 2021, according to Ookla’s latest findings.
With a download speed of 178.52 Mbps in March, the UAE beat South Korea and Qatar in the broadband speed test for mobile devices, to continue what they achieved in January and February, with download speeds of 183.03 Mbps and 177.10 Mbps, respectively.
Speed Test Global Index rates over 135 countries on internet speed data compiled on a monthly basis. The benchmark data comes from hundreds of millions of tests performed by real people with a speed test every month.
Mobile network speed is a major factor contributing to a nation’s economic wealth and social prosperity. This achievement has many positive implications for an environment conducive to future aspirations, the country’s ICT agenda, and corporate productivity, among others.
