Tuchel hopes that Kante, the “better man”, can win the Champions League title

London: Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea coach (Pixel) He praised the midfielder Ngolo Kante before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday (Thursday 3 am Malaysia time) with Real Madrid, saying that the winning mentality of the Frenchman is the key to his quest to win titles.

World Cup winner Kante performed as the best player of the match as Chelsea secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid by a narrow margin in the first leg.

Kante has been ever present at Chelsea’s midfield this season, having made 43 appearances in all competitions, and is expected to play an important role later on Wednesday.

“He’s a big guy,” Tuchel told reporters. “He’s the man you need to win titles … that’s why we’re so happy he’s here and he’s in our club.”

Kante has won the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup since joining the London club in 2016, and Tuchel has supported the 30-year-old to add the Champions League title to his group.

“It’s a pleasure to watch what he is doing with the mentality of a true assistant … he will always give everything to help on the field – it’s a great combination,” added Tuchel, former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain coach.

“To me it is an example … it’s an incredible contribution to any team in the world.”

The semi-final winner of the aggregate match will face Manchester City in the final in Istanbul on May 29th. Reuters
