According to police and reports, the gunman who opened fire on a backyard party in Texas was chased and killed by guests throwing bricks for landscaping.
The man shot three people – one at a party and two during the chase, one of whom was killed.
The shooting in the Fort Worth area of Como, about 40 miles west of Dallas, erupted after an altercation between a group of people at about 1 am local time on Monday, police said.
The thug left the party but returned to shoot at least one person in the backyard. He escaped but was caught by the group.
“At some point, the shooter was caught by the group and either fell or fell to the ground,” the police said.
“The shooter continued to shoot at the group, hitting at least two additional casualties. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. “
In addition to the killed shooter and the victim – an alleged 34-year-old man – authorities said another person was in critical condition and two were injured in a non-life-threatening manner.
Police did not say what caused the initial controversy and no arrests were made. The gun was found by investigators.
Neighbor Dee Edwards told Fort Worth Star Telegram that she called the police after hearing the noise and seeing “two bodies in the driveway.”
