Long Glass-Bottomed Bridges : glass-bottomed bridge

The longest glass-bottomed bridge was listed in the Guinness Book of Records, and it is this structure that is located in the picturesque region of the Huangchuan Three Gorges in southern China. The structure was conceived as a tourist attraction and was completed by the Chinese Architectural Design Studio and Research Institute of Zhejiang University.

The glass-bottom bridge crosses the Lianjiang River in Guangdong province and has a whopping 526 meters in length. Its carrying capacity reaches 500 people. The structure is made of 4.5 cm thick tempered laminated glass and is completely transparent so tourists can see the stage below. As for the aesthetics of the glass-bottom bridge, the studio shared that “glazing gives the bridge deck a crystal luster, high transparency and refractive index,” the studio said.
