“Late Night” host Seth Meyers didn’t hold back on Monday, dedicating an entire 10-minute paragraph to roasting former New York City mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani has been in the center of defense since the FBI raid on his home and office last week renewed interest and intensity for the Justice Department’s investigations into his business dealings with Ukraine. He appeared on several media programs to defend his actions and sought to blame President Joe Biden, his son Hunter and others, despite the fact that the investigation began under Trump.
Myers said that in some of those interviews, Giuliani appears to have done his best to incriminate himself and his ex-client. Giuliani also argued that the contents of his devices are protected with attorney and client privilege, although on multiple occasions he has shared the contents of his phone on television.
“I am not a legal expert, but I am absolutely sure the attorney and principal privilege disappears when you read the documents out loud on national television.” Myers joked, “Well, you are all of my clients.” It’s like your grandmother’s stupid criminal version reading you a funny meme she came across on Facebook. “
