Walgreens and Uber announced a new partnership that will make it easier for customers to get a COVID-19 vaccine from a pharmacy website by accessing a flight via its Trip Sharing service. Uber users will now be able to see a vaccine option in the app that will give them the ability to book an appointment at the Walgreens website of their choice. After booking an appointment, users can then schedule a ride to make sure they arrive on schedule.
Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, spoke of the new Walgreens and Uber partnership, saying, “We are committed to helping ensure that transportation is not a barrier to receiving a vaccination. We know that by making it easier to reach an appointment, more people will be vaccinated. With Walgreens, our goal is to make getting that shot as easy as booking a ride with Uber. “
