Follow all the action as the second day of The Masters gets underway at Augusta, following a dramatic opening round which saw Justin Rose surge to a four-shot lead thanks to an spectacular round of 65 on Thursday.
After making two bogies in his opening seven holes, Rose suddenly found a golden touch as he went nine under through his next 11 to take the clubhouse lead ahead of Brian Harman and Hideki Matsuyama (both -3).
It was a chastening opening day for some of the pre-tournament favourites, however, with Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy both struggling. The big-hitting American carded a 4-over-par 76, while McIlroy shot the same score in an error-strewn round that also saw the Northern Irishman hit his own father with a wayward shot. Both of those players have work to do if they are to make the cut, with the lowest 50 players making it to the weekend.
Elsewhere, players will be jostling for position in an attempt to make up ground on Rose. Jordan Spieth, Shane Lowry and Tyrell Hatton are six shots back at -1, while defending champion Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bob MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick are in a group further behind at +2.

THE MASTERS 2021: ROSE AND LEISHMAN MOVE TO -5
Rose finally has something to smile about. His approach into the par-5 13th was pushed ever so slightly, bringing the water dangerously into play, but he squeezed onto the putting surface and a two-putt brings just his second birdie of the day. Up ahead at the par-5 15th, Leishman is extremely lucky to avoid going in the water, too, with his ball somehow sticking on the fringe at the front. His eagle putt just slips by but that’s a tap-in birdie.

THE MASTERS 2021: THOMAS CREEPING UP LEADERBOARD
Justin Thomas didn’t play anywhere near his best yesterday but ground out a useful 73 to leave himself in contention. He’s taking advantage of that now, with birdies at the 1st and the 8th taking him into the red and just three shots back. The Players Champion arrived as one of the pre-tournament favourites and is very much in the mix.

THE MASTERS 2021: WIESBERGER SETS CLUBHOUSE LEAD
Wiesberger closes a magnificent 66 to set a new clubhouse lead at four-under-par – three less than where Justin Rose started earlier today. The Austrian has two finishes inside the top-25 at Augusta and is primed to better that this weekend.

THE MASTERS 2021: FLEETWOOD ON A FLIER
Tommy Fleetwood makes a birdie at the 9th, courtesy of a brilliant drive and approach shot, and he makes the turn in 32. That’s a terrific turnaround from the Englishman, who’s now just two behind the leaders.

THE MASTERS 2021: LEISHMAN AND HARMAN JOINS LEADERS
With Rose faltering, it’s suddenly all very clustered at the top of the leaderboard. Brian Harman spent much of yesterday with the clubhouse lead and a birdie at the par-5 2nd sees him join the leading pack once again. Meanwhile, Marc Leishman, who is playing some exquisite shots, holes his fifth birdie of the day up at 13 to make it a four-way tie at the top.

THE MASTERS 2021: WIESBERGER TAKES SHARE OF LEAD
Wiesberger has been the outstanding player today so far and deservedly takes a share of the lead at 15 despite pulling his drive into the pine straw. A sensible lay-up left just 105 yards to the pin and his approach was deadly, finishing just 6ft away. The Austrian taps in for birdie and he joins Rose at four-under.

THE MASTERS 2021: DISASTER FOR WALLACE AT AMEN CORNER
It’s a tough break for Wallace at Amen Corner. After making such great progress earlier this afternoon, he finds the water with his approach at the 11th, eventually making a double-bogey, and then compounds the mistake with another bogey at the par-3 12th. He moves back to two-over for the tournament.

THE MASTERS 2021: SMITH MAKES ELECTRIC START
Cameron Smith finished second last year and, after a disappointing 74 yesterday, he’s started with a flourish today. A brilliant 21ft putt at the tricky par-3 4th makes it a hat-trick of birdies for the Australian and he moves into the red.

THE MASTERS 2021: PUTTS NOT DROPPING FOR ROSE
The 8th launched Rose’s spectacular run of form yesterday but there’s no such luck today. He finds the bunker off the tee, leaving him no option but to lay up, and is rather unlucky with his approach, just catching the slope at the front of the green. He still has a chance of making the birdie putt but leaves it high of the hole.

THE MASTERS 2021: WALLACE RISING UP LEADERBOARD
Matt Wallace is steadily rising up the leaderboard. The Englishman started the day at two-over-par but made the turn with a blemish-free 34 and now holes a huge swinging putt at the 10th to move to one-under for the tournament.
