If you were looking for the Giants to throw a Hail Mary to Odell Beckham on the final play of the first half, that would have been impossible.
Beckham walked off the field by himself before the end of the first half, as the Eagles lined up to attempt a 53-yard field goal. The kick fell short with two seconds remaining, giving the Giants a chance for one more offensive snap.
Manning threw a short pass — what else is new? — but actually didn’t have his biggest weapon on the field. Beckham finished the first half with two catches for 12 yards.

The Giants were booed multiple times during the first half, including as the rest of the team ran off the field with the clock at triple zeroes and facing a 24-6 deficit. Beckham’s frustrations have been mounting for weeks, and boiled over in a controversial interview with ESPN.
Beckham tried a self-described “leadership” moment last week, when he called out his teammates for needing to play with more “heart” and didn’t support embattled quarterback Eli Manning or playing in the New York market.
Giants coach Pat Shurmur didn’t agree with Beckham’s words, but tried to squash the controversy. Same for the locker room. Except the Giants reportedly fined Beckham, which isn’t the usual response to acts of leadership.
It’s possible he went in for body maintenance, as he did at the end of the first half against the Saints when he needed an IV.
Beckham started the second half, so there was no noticeable discipline. He head-butted the cooling fan on the sideline while wearing his helmet.
