European Union to reject US President Donald Trump’s plan for
the Middle East and to support the two-state solution was signed
by twenty-five former foreign ministers, six former prime
ministers, and two former NATO secretary-generals.
UK daily The Guardian received a copy of the letter, which
includes the signatures of former Italian premier and foreign
minister Massimo D’Alema and former foreign minister Franco
“It is time for Europe to stand by our principled parameters
for peace in Israel-Palestine,” the letter said.
It called for rejecting any plan that doesn’t include the
creation of a Palestinian state alongside an Israeli state with
Jerusalem as the capital of both.
