“Star India supports BCCI’s decision to postpone the IPL 2021. The health and safety of players and employees and everyone who participates in the IPL is of the utmost importance. We thank BCCI, the IPL Board of Directors, players, franchisees and sponsors for their support,” Star India said in a statement hours after the decision by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
On Monday, Chennai’s bowling coach Super Kings El Balaji, along with Kolkata Knight Riders Sandeep Warrior and Varun Chakravarthy, returned with positive results.
The broadcasters also said it is “indebted” to their employees, talent on air, production and broadcast crews to bring broadcasts to millions of homes in these difficult times.
“We also owe our employees, talent on-air, production and broadcast crews to do their best to spread positivity by bringing IPL 2021 broadcasts to millions of homes in the face of challenging circumstances,” the statement added.
Earlier, an official statement said that BCCI does not want to compromise the safety of players, support staff, and other participants involved in organizing the IPL.
