Netflix dropped the trailer for HalstonAnd the Sharing a first glimpse of Ewan McGregor as the famous gay fashion designer.
Roy Halston Frock was an American designer who rose to world fame in the 1970s. He is best known for designing the medicine pillbox that Jackie Kennedy wore to her husband’s inauguration. He died in 1990 from AIDS-related cancer.
The trailer is set to Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence”, in which he sees McGregor’s Halston on a mission to “change the face of American fashion”, focusing on subtle details and attending drug-fueled parties.
He can be heard saying, “I’ve been a stranger my whole life until one day I stopped making a bird’s sound.”
MacGregor recently defended his choice as a gay character, saying, “If it’s a story about Halston’s sexuality more, it might be right for gay actors to play that role. But in this case – and I don’t want to look like I’m getting out of this, because it’s something I thought about A lot – in the end I suppose I felt it was just one part of his personality. “
Halston It runs for five episodes on Netflix and was executive produced by Ryan Murphy.
